Fred (i.e. me) put this post on X (Twitter), as a response to Crufts, and as you can see from the screenshot, it went viral! (OK, sort-of, by Fred’s standards anyway) …
Crufts is an international dog show held annually in the UK, organised by The Kennel Club. It’s the largest show of its kind in the world, and it’s live on Channel 4 – prime time TV.
Fred’s post (Fred@WooftasticBooks) received 34,000 views, 2.4k likes, and 623 replies – including RSPCA, Peter Egan – Actor and Ambassador to many animal charities, Dominique Dyer – animal welfare & environment campaigner, and Pickle (Ricky Gervais’s cat) and many more of Fred´s Wooftastic followers.
My post on wooftasticbooks received 2.4k likes and 100 replies, which is heartening to see, that some people are willing to give a rescue dog a second chance and agree with Fred’post. But unfortunately, not enough people are adopting from shelters, and the refuges are fulRSPCA

I asked people to comment and share a photo of their rescue dog. It’s very heartening that so many people agree with Fred, and are willing to give a rescue dog a loving home. But unfortunately, not enough people are adopting from shelters, and the refuges are full! Fred thought this should have been given more time on Ch4’s Crufts coverage.

The Horse, The Hound and The Fox
I was inspired to draw this illustration after viewing a Ch4 news story about illegal fox hunting. I imagined what the fox, hound, and horse would say if they were asked their opinion about this cruel sport.
As usual, I’d love people to contribute text to go with the illustration. So please post your suggestions as comments on the blog post, or send them to me by replying to this email.
