Laundromat, Fred and illustration

A few days ago I was at my local car wash and I noticed the garage also had a laundromat – with a machine for washing dog bedding etc. “What a wooftastic idea,” I thought and took a photo. It inspired this cartoon featuring Fred, our rescue pooch, with his toys and blankets doing his weekly wash.

As my blog followers know, my current project is a collection of illustrations of imaginary animals with the title: Once Upon a Time. My head, and sketch book, are full of weird and wonderful ideas, and here’s my latest drawing,

Dentist Rat and Crocodile …

It was prompted by a recent trip to the dentist. Sitting in the chair, I imagined a large animal with lots of teeth, mouth open wide, and a small furry dentist, head in the croc’s mouth, extracting one of them.

As usual, I’d love people to contribute text to go with the illustration. So please leave a comment with your suggestions. Anyone who contributes to the Once Upon a Time book will get a credit and a print of their choice.
For example, here’s another one … Rapper Bee and Fly´

Richard came up with this bit of dialogue: “I take my hat off to you, sir,” said the fly. “Making a song and dance, and putting on the Ritz, just like the good old days.”“Yeah, the buzz ain’t what it used to be,¨ said Rapper Bee.

Last (but definitely not least) … a blog post wouldn’t be complete without a cute photo of Fred. So here he is with one of my pillow designs – which are available to buy from my Red Bubble shop …

See you again in two weeks.
All the best,
Nikki
